Where now for the DB superfunds?

Interest around DB consolidators is high but there remains regulatory uncertainty around their future. Lesley Carline looks at what the future might hold for this section of the market.

It is almost a year since the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) launched its consultation on the consolidation of defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. We all waited with great excitement for the pension schemes bill to arrive, only to see it shelved due to the general election. But, despite high expectations, it did not include the necessary legislation for DB consolidators to go ahead and launch.
